Last month, on 7th October, we opened the hall on a sunny Saturday morning to reveal the current plans and collect feedback from our community. Tea/coffee and cakes were provided by two of our Trustees and it was great chatting to those who were able to come along. We had some great feedback, which will enable us to make sure as much as possible that the changes reflect the needs of the community. If you were unable to attend the event, the plans are available below. Please take a look and let us know your thoughts.
We will be holding another consultation event on Monday 13th November between 5pm-7pm at the Village Hall, with more tea/coffee and cakes, so pop it in your diary! It would be great to see as many of you there as possible. Between now and then we will be assessing feedback gained from our October event and amending our plans accordingly. Looking forward to seeing you on 13th November!

In February 2021 we asked the East Budleigh Community and users of the Village Hall "What did you want your Village Hall to be?". Through a questionnaire we asked how you use the hall, what space did you want to see and what activities would you like to be part of. As Trustees, we have reviewed your feedback and the plan you see below hopefully reflect your wishes.
The plans provide for: - Better utilisation of outdoor space - Modernisation of the building - Working from home hub - Outdoor public toilet - Disabled toilet facilities integrated with other toilets - Bar area for main Hall separate to kitchen - Small meeting room - Retention of the Snooker Club facilities - Community performances - Stage access reconfigured - Connectivity with the Community Shop - Storage for bins and waste Please have a look at the plans and let us have your thoughts. We will be holding drop-in consultation events for you to come and meet the Trustees and discuss the plans, or please provide your comments via the contact page. The plans are work in progress and we would like to say a huge thank you to Mark Timms, our local architect, for his help so far. |
